THE BOOKING PROCESS
- Can we meet up and chat?
- Of course! We love to meet with all our clients. We have a fabulous studio here with a huge screen and plenty of food and snacks! We know you have busy lives, so an after work coffee is just as good! Just drop us a line, and we can schedule a time and date!
- How do I book you for a shoot?
- Just send us an email, or complete the contact form on our website, to request a shoot or check our availability for your wedding or event. We'll get back to you right away, and make arrangements for times and places, and all that other fun stuff!
- I've just booked you for our wedding...now what?
- Once your contract has been signed and deposit received, your wedding is officially booked with us! Hooray! We use a nifty little online booking system that we'll have all your info in, including your contract and questionnaires. We will send you a digital questionnaire to fill out (take your time, it's lengthy!) and then we'll talk about when you'd like to schedule your engagement session. In the meantime we'll brainstorm with you about what your engagement story will be about, and start talking details about your big day!
WEDDING COVERAGE
- Can we have both the bride AND groom covered while they're getting ready?
- Of course! This is one of the many reasons we always have TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS on your wedding day! We are pros at making sure every moment of your day is documented, so it's important to us that we get the whole story, including both the bride and groom getting ready. We work independently for the first part of the day, until we meet up at the church or ceremony venue, where we work as a team for the remainder of the day.
- We are having a smaller wedding. Do you have smaller packages?
- We do offer a smaller package that includes 6 hours of continuous coverage.
ENGAGEMENT
- Can I substitute something else for our engagement session?
- Yes, we offer the alternative of choosing a portrait session (family, babies, pets) instead of an engagement session, however we always recommend keeping your engagement session (it's great practice and a lot of fun!).
- Do I get a disc for my engagement session?
- A disc is not included with the engagement session. We recommend getting one of our awesome guest books for your weddings. That way, you will have all your pictures and share it with all your guests too. Or you can purchase all the images for $250+tax if you have a wedding coverage ($350+tax standalone). Or you can order individual prints of what you love most!
- How long does an engagement session last?
- Engagement sessions (e-sessions) usually last around 2 hours, and are LOTS OF FUN! E-Sessions are so important to your wedding day, since it gives us all a chance to work together as photographer and couple, so your wedding day isn't the first time we've been behind a camera with you! E-Sessions are one of our favorite things to do...check out our blog for tons of ideas for your e-session with us. It's all about the two of you and getting comfortable, relaxed and have some fun.
TRAVEL & INTERNATIONAL
- Do you charge for travel?
- Not for the Greater Vancouver area. We will travel up to one hour or 100km before there are any extra charge. Travel is charged at $.50/km beyond the 100km radius of our studio. It's easiest to just send us an email and we can confirm that travel IS included for the location of your event or shoot!
- We're planning a destination wedding, or a wedding outside of Vancouver. Can you cover it?
- Of course! Depending on our availability, we are happy to travel for any event. We have weddings all around the world, including many provinces across Canada, and throughout the US. Since all weddings, especially destination weddings, are different, send us some information about your big day and we'll put a custom quote together based on your needs and location.
EDITING & POST-PROCESSING
- How do we get to see our final images?
- We post all your final edited images in a private online gallery. From there you can view, share, or order the photos of your choosing. For weddings, galleries are protected with the bride's maiden name. For portrait sessions, it is usually protected with your last name. Feel free to share it with anyone so they'll be able to check out your photos too, including ordering prints, enlargements, and more.
- How long after the shoot do we get to see my photos?
- Weddings are usually completed within 3 weeks after the event. Portrait sessions are usually completed within 2 weeks after the shoot. We will invite you to view them in our studio once they are ready!
PAYMENT OPTIONS
- How can we pay you?
- We accept cash, cheques, or credit cards (Visa and Mastercards). Wedding retainers can only be accepted as cash or cheques.
- When do we pay you?
- Weddings require a 50% deposit, and the final balance paid at least 2 weeks prior to your wedding day. Portrait sessions are due at your shoot with a 50% booking deposit.
DVDs, ALBUMS & MORE
- Can we get a slideshow of my photos?
- Yes! These are not included in our standard packages. Wedding slideshows are $250+tax and includes THREE copies (one for you and each set of parents). Portrait slideshows are $150+tax and includes TWO copies. Additional copies are available for $50+tax. A regular photo CD of all your images is usually included in all wedding packages, which is suitable for printing, viewing on your computer, emailing, watching on your DVD player, etc. For portrait sessions, a photo CD is not include but can be purchased as an option.
- How many photos are on my Disc I get with my wedding package?
- You will receive all your photos on your disc. We typically deliver around 800 images from an 8 hour wedding depending on how much is happening. These images have all been edited and color corrected.
- What is a Page and what is a Spread?
- For our albums, a page is like a page found in a novel (pg 1, 2, 3). A spread contains two pages.
- What photos goes into my wedding album?
- You will have a choice of up to 20 photos that you "must have". We usually know what photos you like already, so you may want to choose some formals of your loved ones. We will work with those images, and create a pre-design of your album based on the events of your wedding day. We never design with a specific number of pages in mind as that usually inhibits our design and our ability to re-tell your wedding with our images. You will have a chance to review this pre-design and make changes until you are happy with them.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Do you have a wedding registry?
- Yes we do! All of our clients will have their very own gift registry where you can send guests to. There, they will be able to make any contribution they want to that can go towards your wedding packages! Click on the link above for instructions.
- Do you speak any other language besides English?
- We are fluent in Cantonese, and impressively we can count to ten in about a dozen others.
