Eleasha + Michael = Engagement

Eleasha and Michael contacted me and were looking for some fun shots of them being them! They are both from Fort St. John, BC and decided to come in to the city for a bit of fun. They are getting married in Vegas very soon so they wanted something a bit different. We came up with an idea to go to a retro diner for some photos! We got some milkshakes, fries and the works!
EM_009-edit.jpg

Love the decor they had up at the place. They really loved this one with the bright walls.

EM_071.jpg

We then took a quick drive and headed to the Marine Building on Burrard. It had this awesome front entrance from the Art Deco movement. I found out Michael was a big Smallville fan. And it turns out that this building is the Daily Planet building they use in Smallville! So very cool! They just need stab that globe on top and it’s perfect!

Jacklyn + Alex = Married!

Oh joy! The day has finally come for Jacklyn and Alex! I was so looking forward to this wedding and we had such a great time! The whole week before, we were seeing rain everyday, but on this lone Saturday, it stopped! YES! I’ve actually been very lucky with getting fair weather with my weddings and I thought it would end with this wedding. Nope not this one! I probably just jinxed myself and will get torrential rain next wedding. Nah. Anyways, we got started with Jacklyn getting all prettied up for Alex! They got a quite a nice room at the Hilton and that’s where things began.

JA_1081.jpg

Jacklyn had these awesome shoes and I absolutely loved it! I probably took a million of them just in case I don’t see them again. Here’s a couple of my fav!

JA_0014.jpgJA_0016.jpg

She also had this veil that had some nice details on it. Love the softness of this.

They look so cute together, especially with the extra veil that looks like a hoody.

JA_0546.jpg  JA_0603.jpgJA_0693.jpg

JA_0855.jpg

And the lovely ladies…

JA_0877.jpg

Ohh more shoes… seriously, I don’t have a foot fetish.

JA_0928.jpg

I promised Alex I wouldn’t post this, but I lied. It was too good to pass up. At least I made it up with the second shot.

JA_0886.jpgJA_0888.jpg

And when you don’t have cigars and want to look cool…what do you use? Granola bars! That’s right. This cracked me up so hard, I don’t know how they kept a straight face.

JA_0895.jpgJA_0896.jpg

Alright, finally a proper one!

JA_0901.jpg

We were running late, so we headed back to the hotel. But when we got there, it turns out we had a bit more time, so we squeezed in a couple more in the hotel.

And Alex stands on the sidelines and watches.

Thanks for the great day you two and congrats again!

Claire + Robert = Married!

Claire and Robert are MARRIED! Out of all the winter days we had in Vancouver, we got the most perfect one! Sky is clear, fog is gone, no snow, no slush! Yay! I had such an awesome day with Claire and Robert. They are the most fantastic people to work with! Did I mention that they are tall? Especially Robert who towers over me. I lost count how many things i’ve climbed that day to get a good perspective/angle of them. But it was all fun though. Ceremony and reception was at Brix Restaurant. We also did a “First Look” which I would totally recommend to everyone as it really helps with the logistics of the day!

Vanessa second shot for me throughout the day and she did a fabulous job with the guys getting ready!

CR_0090.jpg

What’s Canada’s favourite pastime? HOCKEY! It’s Hockey Day in Vancouver… dun dun dun…..(ignore me if you don’t know what I’m talking about)

CR_0003.jpg

CR_0111.jpgCR_0097.jpgCR_0100.jpgCR_0115.jpgCR_0118.jpg

Love these shoes, they were a million inches high! Say good bye to your feet Claire!

CR_0130.jpg

Apparently, she is much smarter than that. She got these cute white ones for walking around. Love these too!

CR_0133.jpgCR_0135.jpgCR_0148.jpgCR_0156.jpg

Here is Claire’s mom’s muff from a long long time ago which we used for some photos! Everyone got a kick out of it when Claire explained this.:D

Congrats again Mr. and Mrs. McVeigh!

Jacklyn + Alex = Enagagement

Looking back at Jacklyn and Alex they share many similarities to me and Rita. I first met J+A in Richmond when they were planning their wedding. During the meeting we both thought each other looked very familiar. It turns out that we all went to the same highschool, RHS! GO COLTS! In fact, that is where Jacklyn and Alex met each other and started dating 8 years ago. Around the same time that me and Rita started dating too! In fact, they live just one street away from Rita! How amazing is that?

They just had their wedding recently at the Hilton! That’s coming up next! Here are their engagement out around the Gastown area.

Agnes + Michael = Engagement

Here are some of my favourites from Agnes and Michael’s engagement shoot! We headed out to the new convention centre out in Downtown Vancouver. It overlooks a beautiful view of the mountains and also peeks of Stanley Park as well. I really love what they have done around this area. It was years back when I remember it was still under construction. I didn’t even know they were building this. I finally got a chance to visit it when me and Rita went there to check out one of the Canstruction pieces that our friend help build. Anyways, A+M is getting married soon up top at Grouse Mountain. I can’t wait for it!

Crystal and Kai: Getaway honeymoon in Vancouver

I was contacted by a friend of Crystal and Kai that was coming to Vancouver after their recent wedding in Asia. I always photograph my couples before the wedding, during the wedding, and after the wedding. Never was I invited to participate in doing some photos during their honeymoon! (*hint hint*) It was such a blast.

I think a premise is in order. Crystal is an actress/singer in Asia. I was told that she recently starred in the movie Forbidden Kingdom with Jackie Chan and Jet Li. (One of the movies I actually watched!) So being in the spotlight more often than not, she wanted some unique photos on each of their honeymoon destination. Something you couldn’t get anywhere else! At their Vancouver stop, they wanted something that ties the west coast roots with their photos. So we decided on an aboriginal theme to the whole shoot. We rented some very authentic costumes here in Vancouver with some awesome headgear! And headed for some westcoast mountain views and……. TOTEM POLES!

I had to do some homework for this shoot totally! I found some historic native indian portraits that were done and I tried to replicate them in some of the shots there. You’ll see most of them are in sepia and has a sense of grit and edginess in the male portraits. It was so fun and hard trying to do the serious looking shots. All in all, I think we got some really great shots. They really loved it!

Here’s what we got for the day:

Pre-Engagement Shoot -> Engagement Shoot – Tanya and Dustin

So here’s the story! Dustin contacted me a couple weeks back about doing some photos of him and his ‘girlfriend’ Tanya. With him being in Kamloops, we exchanged emails about a million time to stamp out the details! The plan was to go around Vancouver, take some photos, and at the end surprise Tanya with a marriage proposal! How awesome is that!?!

I was so psyched up for this shoot and was mentally preparing myself so I would not say anything to give it away! After all, we did called it a portrait session the whole time! So here goes…

Love this! 1 pose 4 look!

Did I mention that I love lens flares? I caught this awesome one here!

This was so funny. See the shadow? That’s my head! I was trying  to hide behind the seawall so that I’m not in the shot. With only my head peeking up, this well dressed dog gave me a weird look. There’s Tanya and Dustin on the top right.

We finally got to the beach! Our destination for proposal-ville!
I think Tanya is about the cry here…
SHE SAID YES!!

Congrats again Tanya and Dustin! Thanks for having me capture all the sweet moments! Give me a shout when you’ve set a date!

Woohoo! We’re featured in the latest edition of Real Weddings magazine! Congrats to Krista and David as they are the stars! This year we only had time to submit one of our engagement shoots to Real Weddings. Being only allowed to sent one shot per engagement, it was such a tough choice. If you saw their pics, there was a million to choose from! I’m glad we got the right one! I can’t wait for their wedding next year!
